You’ve learned to row, now it’s about getting better. Continue to Row brings together our Development and Squad programs for adults, so you can progress at your own pace in a crew that pushes you along.
Adults
- Development: refine your stroke and grow as an all-round rower
- Squad: advanced coaching and race preparation
- Covered by a Red Shedder Membership, with casual sessions and 10-passes too
Youth
- Youth have their own pathway: development, squad, elite and private coaching
- It all lives on our Youth & School Programs page
The programs
Development
For rowers ready to refine their stroke and build confidence across a range of boats.
- Sharpen technique in team boats and single sculls
- Build crew cohesion and fitness
- Grow into a versatile, self-sufficient rower
Squad
For seasoned rowers training with intent.
- Advanced coaching, race strategy, pacing and endurance
- Structured group sessions with like-minded rowers
- Entry requirement: pass a capsize test in a single and gain sign-off from our coaching team
University students
We run programs specifically for uni students, from any university, at a student rate. If you rowed at school and want to keep going, or you are starting from scratch, see Learn to Row or get in touch.
Racing and club rowing
Black Mountain Rowing Club is Red Shed’s home club and where most of our rowers go when they want to race. It’s for experienced rowers, so it isn’t the step straight out of Learn to Row, but keep building through development and it’s a natural place to end up. There are other clubs around Canberra too, and your coach can talk you through what suits you.
How it works
Development and Squad sessions are covered by a Red Shedder Membership*. Prefer to pay as you go? Casual sessions and 10-session passes are available, and you can buy either before you come. Session times live in the timetable, book via Mindbody.
What’s on this week
Development and Squad sessions both appear in the timetable below. Pick a session that suits your week and book it.
